Bonus Stage
#3 October 2004
Mystic Riders
Genre: Horizontal Shooter
Players: 2
Platform: Arcade
Developer = Irem
Difficulty = 2/10 / Easy
Tidbits: Irem is
one of the great arcade developers, with quality game graphics and
gameplay - but, also with interesting innovations. Company and game are
certainly favorites. Great for the Halloween holiday season.
Splatterhouse
Genre: Platformer
Players: 1
Platform: Arcade
Developer = Namco
Difficulty = 7/10 / Hard
Tidbits:
Namco is one of the top 5 largest Japanese arcade publishers and
developers. Splatterhouse when released in 1988, was one of the first
video games to feature gore/blood n guts.
Ghost Busters
Genre: Overhead
Players: 2
Platform: Arcade
Developer = Data East
Difficulty = 2/10 / Easy
Tidbits: Who ya
gonna call? A rather fun game, much better than the console versions.
Data East? Well, they had some neat ones, let's keep it at that.
Castleween
Genre: Platformer
Players: 1
Platform: Gameboy Advance
Developer = Wanadoo
Difficulty = 7/10 / Hard
Tidbits: Also
known as Spirits & Spells. Storyline is what allows this Gameboy
Advance title to even be listed in the ranks of greatness. GBA has a
horrid collection of sub-quality level games. Often classic style
gameplay, yet without the quality features of well crafted games.
Castleween's story of trick or treaters is good, the game wants to be
for young kids only, yet it's difficult. Wanadoo, a newer developer,
not exactly a fantastic great giant of developers, makes this festive
game. A bit bland in many ways, yet props for the Halloween storyline.
Ghouls' n Ghosts
Genre: Platformer
Players: 1
Platform: Arcade
Developer = Capcom
Difficulty = 9/10 / Wicked Hard
Tidbits: The
lifeline and longevity of replability of this game mystifies new
inexperienced game site reviewers. It's called "quality engineering and
craftmanship."
